The noun Barmer associates to the glorify history of this place since it’s derived from the renowned ruler Bahado Rao Parmar. This place was founded by him in the 13th century and that time Barmer was known as Bahadamer. And gradually, it became Barmer. The meaning of Bahadamer is The Hill Fort of Bahada.   • Juna Jain Temple – If you Google this place, you will come to know how it’s cool to experience the great architecture. Juna Jain Temple located 42 km away from Barmer and perched on a rocky hill. It was built around the 12th or 13th century. This temple covers an area of about 15 sq. km. A series of hills around Barmer lift up the glamour of Juna Jain Temple. There was a time when Juna was quite densely populated but now it has turned into a pretty much peaceful place as a number of inhabitants has migrated.

  • Nakoda Temple – The Nakoda Temple or Parshvanath Temple is one of the main centres for Jain pilgrimage in India. This temple is located on a hill at a height of 1500 ft on the road from Jodhpur to Barmer. The temple has the figure of Parshvanath, the Jain saint, made of black stone. It is believed that the temple was built by two brothers, Nakorsen and Veersen some 2300 years ago.

  • Barmer fort Rajasthan – is the center of attraction for the tourists in Barmer. Barmer has ruins of the old Barmer fort on the top of rocky hill. The entire district of Barmer is known for its Fort which is locally known as Gadh Siwana which when translated means fort.

  • Kiradu Temples – Avoiding Kiradu Temples means leaving a big chunk of the fun. Kiradu Temple is a group of five temples hold magnificent beauty with itself. Though they are ancient temples but will not let you feel if they are quite old because its strong platform, walls and facade. It’s also rewarded as an important site from the archaeological point of view. Kiradu Temple was built in the 11th century. It was constructed in honour of Lord Shiva and that’s why it’s visited a number of Lord Shivas devotees to pay worship.

  • Siwana Fort – IF you are one of them love to visit the ancient fort to lend in another world, then you must add in your list Siwana Fort. It’s just 151 km from Barmer. Siwana Fort was built by a famous Panwar ruler Raja Bhoj’s son Veernarayan. It holds beautiful pond in its premises.

  • Meva Nagar – Once known as Viranipur, Meva nagar is located on the slopes of Nagar-Ki-Bhakarian. There are 3 temples in Meva nagar out of which the biggest temple is dedicated to Nakoda Parsvanath.

  • Veeratara Mela –  this fair is held at Veertara thrice a year. The fair is organized to pay worship venerated goddess Vakaldevi.
  • Khed Fair –  Khed Fair is organized in the mother of August – September. It’s a big religious fair which is held on Purnima in village Khed.
